Hi everyone! Thanks for coming by for a visit. We've had a good day. Katie had her follow-up appointment with the pulmonologist today. Can you believe it's already been a month since she got home from the hospital (again)???
Her chest x-ray was fine, her lungs looked good. She gets to come off some of her medicines - no more nebulizer treatments twice a day. Now she'll be using an inhaler once a day, which takes about a minute. She thinks it's a game. No more of the yucky Prevacid either, which is great, and she gets to come off the Reglan (again) in 2 weeks. She will stay on the Singulair for now, but that one's easy, we mix it in with a little yogurt every night and she loves it. They do think that she has some asthma going on, which is very likely considering how early she was, AND the genetics involved. (I know she'll thank me someday.) So she'll stay on some maintenance meds for a couple of months till she goes back for a check up in July.
She's really doing so well. At the doctor's office today we saw some little ones and their families who have some huge challenges and we were reminded again how lucky we are to have Katie, how blessed we are that she is so healthy.
Do you think she and her Daddy are having fun? We just have to keep her from dragging EVERYTHING off the desk. Her favorite game is "Throw it in the floor and watch someone pick it up."
