Hello! Hope everyone reading is doing great!
We are fine - enjoying the fallish weather these past few days. And of course we enjoyed the weekend's football offerings. The Vols won, and then of course, there was the chance to watch Peyton Manning and the Colts play against little brother Eli Manning and the Giants. It was a good game - they are fun to watch. Katie's not as impressed as I think she should be, but maybe next year! :-)
Katie is doing great. We got good reports from both her appointments on Tuesday. Her eye doctor was very thorough, which was great for the explanation he gave us, not so great for Katie who was not very happy about having things stuck in her eyes to hold them open! She has a TEMPER! (it's from her Daddy of course, that Irish blood!) Anyway, he said that her retina is underdeveloped, and most likely as developed as it is going to be, however, he said that at the same time, it is as developed as it needs to be. He said the biggest difference for her will be that throughout her life when she has an eye exam, the doctor will be able to tell that she was a preemie because of the way her retina developed. He said she may need glasses at some point, but so do lots of us!
Her apnea clinic went well also. She had one alarm on August 18 for a slow heart rate. That was it. They said she is doing exceptionally well - their words. She goes back on October 17, and if she has no alarms between now and then she will be able to come off the monitor. That's a scary and wonderful thought!
We were very thankful to God for continued answered prayers. The good reports were so great to hear.
I'll post some new pictures soon....I know I'll be in trouble if I don't!
Have a blessed day!
